Après Nicolas Sarkozy, qui reprend la taxe Google inventée par la mission Zelnik, c'est au tour du gouvernement allemand de s'en prendre au monopole possiblement abusif exercé par le géant de la recherche sur internet sur ce marché également.

Selon l'agence de presse Reuters, Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger (ministre de la Justice de l'Allemagne) avoue son inquiétude face au monopole géant que représente désormais Google, et même pire puisque ce monopole géant serait comparable à celui de Microsoft (brrr !). cette inquiétude naissant de la constatation que l'entreprise détenait à la fois trop de pouvoir économique et d'informations sur les citoyens via des programmes tels que Google Earth (NDLR : et surtout Google maps avec Street View ?) ou encore Google Books (NDLR : ?!).

A la différence du chef de l'Etat français, la ministre allemande de la justice ne prévoit pas pour l'heure n'employer la voie légale ni même se saisir les autorités de la concurrence, cette menace est en effet agitée uniquement dans le cas où Google ne ferait pas preuve de plus de transparence quant à la somme de données personnelles qu'il accumule sur les citoyens allemands.
